A Journey Through My College Life

I have come to the last part of my college days....  02 - 08 - 2010 is where it all started with my very good room mates "Bharath, Kannan, Anbu"... "Chennai" looked very new to me... Struggled a lot to adopt to the city conditions, style, language... Finally a "homely-raha" became a "roomly-raha"... 4 totally different characters we were.

Kannan : cute, ever-smiling, hearing to his lovely songs every night.... a visit to his neyveli home was never forgetable with the best hospitality from his father, mother and his cute brother. I always felt like missing him as a room mate for the next 3 yrs. First time he took me to #Gokulam and gave me an introduction to variety of dishes. I remember eating a chicken biriyani for just Rs.50. There came my fever for "Sezhwan Chicken Fried Rice". Had so much fun with him in those days.

Bharath (The Miner): a man of great courage who lives in his own world with his friends.Always cracks jokes irrespective of the situation. Really felt sad when he was caught up in a fight with IT fellows for a silly love issue.Had the first time outing in my CEG life to TNagar with him and his friends. "Emotions ah control pannunga da.. "famous dialogue which an aunty heard it and stared at us.

Anbazhagan: very silent, studious. That night were he suffered from fits seriously, me, my blockmate rushed to Malar Hospital,Adyar without even a chappal in an ambulance. Always felt bad that i was not able to be with him in the hospital that night due to exams (+2 effect).

Still could remember those nights where we switched off the lights at night and were telling each others ghost experiences. I almost freaked everyone especially kannan and with our usual req to the Airtel Super Singer Runnerup Kannan "Paadri....Nee Moodreee...":D

Block 2: Loved those moments when we all shouted during world cup-2011 chearing our Indian team n blowing whistles devastating almost everything in the TV hall on the final Ind Vs Sri. Got some wonderful friends like Mahalingam, Murali, RC room naveen n lot others as TV hall friends. Remember those anxious faces who came rushing on a fb status message "ellarum oru 5 minutes la mela vaangada....(kushi film song) poda poranga...!!" First time i was caught with some drunkard fellows at midnight in my hostel entrance where my friends Vignesh and Ravi Chandran consoled me n solved the issue. That was a bitter experience.

G-Batch 1st sem mates: Of all the semesters , 1st sem toped everything were i had many enjoyable moments with my benchmates and many others like kiran, ajay, keshav, karthick, arun, manoj, venkatraman, Santhosh, rajiii, paveethra, Rajagomathi, Indhu , srividya in room 74 and Engineering Graphics periods. G-Batch reunion at Besant Nagar was just awsum with lots of kalaais and fun.

NSS Unit 3---certainly didnt do well as a social worker. The unit's camp to a village near kanchipuram and orphanage visit near poondamallee taught me a lot of experiences about monoacting, dramas, how to adopt to emergency situations etc. Its the place where i got to know a lot of seniors of various departments. First time felt the value of life and friendship when happened to see the sad ending of "Apoorva" brother. Always spent a lot of time speaking to him in college and in camps. He always thought of helping the poor n needy through his #ThaipaalVaasam. He always said "One day i will become the collector of Dharmapuri district and will do good deeds to my people da...".But it was all over with just "said".

"Selvakumar Kamalanathan" he was more than an RC to me, as he turned out to be an inspiration in my college days n will always be. Been a very good friend, always encouraging me, sharing his personal life incidents and his advice of how to balance joy and sorrows are been healthy factors. Hope to attend your "Dum Dum Dum" function soon at vellore sir.

Teachers ---> "Mr.KrishnaKumar", handled Probability and Queing Theory (PQT) during the 6th semester was a person of immense knowledge and experience in teaching. Such a very nice learning atmosphere he created in class periods. I would have been a 10 ptr / placed in a high salaried company if he would have taught me my core subjects. Sir, I always feel very bad that though i had the passion to learn new things, lack of guidance and improper preparations for campus interviews has lead to my vast downfall. Certainly i hope to be "The Complete Engineer" by profession in the days to come.

CEG Mess---> wat a mess it was...!! I always repent for the dishes over phone to my parents those days. But now i'm realising how good the dishes were, the cost per day(Rs.65),timely and unlimited dishes. Certainly i will miss CEG NV mess a lot in the days to come. Cant forget the day when my roommates n me decorated our room with a visit to "Odessey, Adyar" for "The best room competition award" which ended up on the losing side. "Hostel day"is when i wait for hours together to have a bulky meal worth rs.300 every year.

#Techofes---> the cultural fest of CEG. First time happened to witness some extraordinary events in live like Music concert of Yuvan with his team , coreo night, dhanush-anirudh concert, variety shows , dance competitions with competitors from top colleges,  powerstar in close up view (saddest part), star awards, wrestling, exhibits for online photography event, food stalls. Techofes had its best place in 2011. One request to the techofes team is avoid giving "Mr. and Mrs.Techofes" awards. They are such rubbish activities.

Final Year Project---> as my friends call my team "RA HA RO" (Rahamaan - Harini - Rohini). Got up as a team on the end of a FOSS lab. We absolutely had no clue of how to start our project "URL Classification In Twitter Stream" for nearly 1.5 months. Yet we completed all our 4 reviews successfully with our project done with "Thegidi" film dialogue "The manner of conveying the information is more important than the content of information." in mind. Had a hilarious viva session (30- 04 - 2014) when i was counting my last few hours as a CEG student. We had a laughing riot on the end of every review. I had to thank my project guide Mrs.Angelin Gladston a lot for her patience shown throughout our project and our panel members Mrs.Rajeshwari Sridhar, Mr.Arul Siromoney and Mrs.Geetha.

The so called "Virtual Death Day" ---> Could have easily got a bus to my home at the night of my last college day but the NO DUES formalities forced me to stay in hostel till 04-05-2014. The day after was my birthday (01-05-2014). It was 12.00 am when i was cleaning my room (sorting out the dump books to be sold in moor market). One by one started to knock my door to wish me. But all of a sudden shocked to see the whole block charging inside my room and giving me bday bumps. Thank you Arun KL, Anto, Ashwin, Skandan, Santhosh, Gowtham, Sathish, Sreejith, Abi Kumar, Venkat Krishnan, Ranganathan, Kamarajan, Aravind S, "Scott Wilson" (GGGG's) for your "Shampoo- powder-Oil-Water" abishegas, photos and for making it a memorable birthday. I will find answers for all your limitless "Non-Vegetarain" questions soon :D :D. Cant forget the mindless jokes we all had at Besant Nagar beach on 19-04-2014 night till 12.30 am.

Changing moments ---> Forgettable days were those days in CSE G Batch where i wasnt able to settledown with my classmates probably due to my reserved character. "CSE-G" taught me so many lessons in my life of how to gather friends till the 7th semester. I will surely rectify my "disgusting" character very soon in the days to come. Thank you once again CSE-G. But soon after the 7th semester many of my classmates started mingling with me very friendly. Really had a memorable and enjoyable 8th semester. Many asked me "why havent you always been like this??". The solution for this query allowed me to mingle with so many people in my class. Dining together with friends, friend room visits from time to time, outings, theatres, beaches, treats, farewell parties, posing for photos, music concerts and cultural festives, watching TV hall movies as a group and the top of all "bumps on my birthday"."vidya vidya thovachi eduthutingalae da :D :D".

(to be updated with lot more incidents soon......................................)
